The Queen of Wands and Witch's Hat.

Posted on 17 May, 2018 at 3:35 Comments comments (0)

The Queen of Wands & Witch's Hat, with Keyword Power, give us a message of strength & energy today. The Queen sits on her throne, looking our over her realm in a confident & self-assured way. She knows that people will obey her & help her to do the best to create a situation that meets her approval. She has high standards, but is happy to put in the work to meet them herself too. Once she has achieved her goals she then likes to appreciate the things she's made for herself, sp...

Death and Water.

Posted on 16 May, 2018 at 3:20 Comments comments (0)

Death & Water, with the Keyword Cleansing, are our cards with a message today from the Dark Fairytale Tarot & the Witches' Wisdom Oracle deck. There's a nice contrast in these two cards, from the darkness of Death to the brightness of Water, helping us to remember we have to go through the difficult, dark times before we can emerge from them brighter & hopefully happier. Death relates to transformation; without death they can be no life, it's a fact of nature & seen in the cyc...

5 of Swords and Litha.

Posted on 15 May, 2018 at 5:15 Comments comments (0)

The 5 of Swords & Litha, with the Keyword Intensification, are our cards today. There is a victory to see in the 5 of Swords, but at what cost? By concentrating too much on one area of life or trying to win a particular disagreement or argument are we in danger of causing more problems in other areas? Yes, to get good results we often need to focus fully on one aspect of life, but to win at all costs, is that what we really want? To balance this out we can look at the bigger picture and s...

6 of Pentacles and Tarot Cards.

Posted on 14 May, 2018 at 3:55 Comments comments (0)

I'm drawing one card from a tarot deck, The Dark Fairytale Tarot, & one from an oracle deck, Witches' Wisdom Oracle Cards, this week, & our cards today are the 6 of Pentacles & Tarot Cards, with the keywords Guidance.

The card from the Witches' Wisdom deck made me smile when I drew it- I'm drawing cards for help & guidance & get one with “guidance” on it. This is trying to stand out & make its message heard; we already know the answer, we've seen all...

7 of Wands and the 7 of Cups.

Posted on 11 May, 2018 at 3:10 Comments comments (0)

The final day of the week brings us two 7s today; namely the 7 of Wands relating to an issue in our lives, with the 7 of Cups helping us. The 7 of Wands shows a woman trying to stand her ground again those who are opposing her. This looks as though it could be a serious situation if she falters or loses her footing, but despite this she appears to be doing well so far. This can relate to a precarious position we're in, something we're trying to do against the odds or a situation where we're t...

3 of Coins and the 6 of Cups.

Posted on 10 May, 2018 at 5:30 Comments comments (0)

The 3 of Coins from the Vanessa Tarot relates to an issue in our lives & the 6 of Cups has a possible solution to it for us today. 3s in Tarot can relate to the end of cycles, getting us ready to find fulfilment & helping us to see our accomplishments. A problem or issue in our lives doesn't have to be bad news; it can be a good situation coming to an end or changing, or it may mean we've come as far as we can in an area of our lives & now need to look to see what we can concentra...

The Magician and the 8 of Wands.

Posted on 9 May, 2018 at 3:25 Comments comments (0)

The Magician & the 8 of Wands from The Vanessa Tarot are the cards with messages for us today. The Magician relates to a problem or issue we may need to deal with & the 8 of Wands gives us advice regarding how to approach this.

The Magician shows a woman cooking in a kitchen with plenty of tools available to her, plus she looks as though she knows what she needs to do, so other people's expectations regarding the food she'll produce could be pretty high. Sometimes we appear to ...

10 and 2 of Cups.

Posted on 8 May, 2018 at 3:50 Comments comments (0)

We were away over the Bank Holiday weekend so I'm sorry I wasn't able to post yesterday, but I'm back with the 10 & 2 of Cups from The Vanessa Tarot this morning. This week the first card I draw each day is a potential issue we may be facing & the second card is a solution we could use for this, so today the 10 of Cups relates to an issue or problem we may have to face. The 10 of Cups has a positive & contented look to it, with a close family unit celebrating good times together. ...

Strength.

Posted on 4 May, 2018 at 3:15 Comments comments (0)

Strength is the final card of the week for us from The Portland Tarot, reminding us we have the courage to face up to situations that need our attention. We could think we won't make a difference or our efforts will go unheeded, but they will make a difference to someone somewhere at some point in times, even if it just means we feel better because we've done the right thing. Standing up to a bully, defending a vulnerable person or doing the right thing, even when no-one else notices, all tak...

The Weird.

Posted on 3 May, 2018 at 3:45 Comments comments (0)

The Weird is an extra card in The Portland Tarot, showing a woman & elephant walking together towards a door on a bridge. The whole scene is a bit surreal, but then this is tarot & this card is called The Weird, so it's living up to its name. This can also remind us that what is weird or strange to one person is normal to another. We all live very different lives & have gained knowledge from a myriad of experiences, some that make sense to us more than others do. We don't always k...

The Fool.

Posted on 2 May, 2018 at 3:50 Comments comments (0)

The Fool, the first card of the Major Arcana, has a message for us today. After Death yesterday encouraging us to embrace change, today is about new starts, taking a risk or leap of faith & seeing what adventures we can have along the way. If we can look at life through the eyes of a child we may not worry quite so much or see the obstacles in our paths so easily. Instead, we'll be more likely to see what the possibilities could be, be aware of the risks but not let them hold us back &...

Death.

Posted on 1 May, 2018 at 3:30 Comments comments (0)

Death is our card from The Portland Tarot today. Much as it can sound a bit sinister or scary, the image in this card portrays the more positive aspects of change & endings we may experience in life. It can be a relief to let go of something that isn't working for us any more, but it can hard to let it go when it's something we're comfortable with or has been part of our life for a while. Seeing the difference between the things that are working & those that aren't can be difficult, b...

Temperance.

Posted on 30 April, 2018 at 3:10 Comments comments (0)

I've chosen to use The Portland Tarot this week by Theresa Pridemore, with the accompanying book co-written with Jamie Morris.

I've drawn Temperance as our card with a message today, relating to balance, moderation, self-control & modesty. This is a great card to draw after the weekend where we may have over-eaten, indulged in too much alcohol & not had enough sleep or done many healthy activities (or is that just me? :D :D :D ). Some of the advice Temperance gives us may make u...

Justice-Acting fair & ethically, With balance & impartiality.

The Tower, Death and Justice.

Today's Tarot Discs look fairly sombre; The Tower, Death & Justice. Let's start with my rhymes for them all:

The Tower-Sudden change, a shocking sight, As darkness comes before the light.

Death-A clean sweep brings changes & renewal, Transformation, a turning point, hear its call.

Justice-Acting fair & ethically, With balance & impartiality.

The Tower can appear to be bad or worrying, but if we think of it as demolishing the things that aren't working i...

Today's' pick from my handmade Tarot discs are The World, The High Priestess again & The Fool, & the rhymes for them are as follows:

The World-The end of a chapter, it's been completed, Advancement after you've succeeded.

The High Priestess-To see secrets & knowledge hidden, Use psychic powers & intuition.

The Fool-Time to go, to be carefree, A fresh start with spontaneity.

What strikes me as being particularly interesting with these is that The World ...

The Empress, The High Priestess & The Sun.

Posted on 23 April, 2018 at 6:45 Comments comments (0)

I'm using a set of my very own (handmade by me) wooden Tarot Discs this week. I used precut wooden discs, then designed the pictures for each of the Major Arcana, before drawing & painting them onto the discs, then finishing off with a coat of varnish. I also wrote a short rhyme/description for each one.

The discs I've drawn for us today are The Empress, The High Priestess and The Sun. I'll start with the rhymes I wrote:

The Empress-Full of fruitfulness & fertility, She ov...

The 9 of Wands and the King of Cauldrons.

Posted on 20 April, 2018 at 4:50 Comments comments (0)

The 9 of Wands & the King of Cauldrons from the Celtic Tarot are the final cards of the week with a message today. The 9 of Wands relates to victory, but a hard won one rather than a walk in the park. This is something that's taken its toll on us. We've succeeded in an area of life, but may wonder if the pain & sacrifices have been worth our efforts & even the result we achieved. We've done well, persevered & got the job done, but now what? The King of Cauldrons helps us to te...
