The Fire Witch.

Posted on 18 October, 2017 at 5:55 Comments comments (0)

The Fire Witch is our card today from the Good Witch Bad Witch deck, and you can see she's all fired up and full of energy, ready and raring to go. Whatever area of life that we feel fired up about will receive a boost as we give it our attention. This could be a friendship, relationship, job, hobby or anything that sparks something inside of us. By following our passions, the more we apply ourselves or put our efforts into a project, the more we'll be able to get out of it. This is about thr...

The Toil and Trouble Witch.

Posted on 17 October, 2017 at 5:25 Comments comments (0)

I'm a day late I'm afraid as I was up and out at the crack of dawn yesterday and didn't get back home until late, but the rest of week should be back on track. This week's Halloween inspired deck that I'm using is Good Witch Bad Witch by Gillian Kemp, and the card I've drawn today is The Toil and Trouble Witch. You can tell by the picture that this witch doesn't accept being messed about or betrayed.....do so at your own peril! The message for us is to remember that not everyone who smiles at...

Amaranth Longing.

Posted on 13 October, 2017 at 3:25 Comments comments (0)

Amaranth Longing, with the Keywords: Martyrdom, Regret, Past Mistakes, is the final card of the week for us from the Victoria Frances Oracle. The girl looking out of the card at us has such a sad look on her face; she looks as though she's thinking about the past, wondering how to make improvements in her life for a better future, or maybe she's had to make sacrifices to get to where she is at the moment. This shows that many different situations and experiences can result in us being upset o...

Falling from grace.

Posted on 12 October, 2017 at 6:10 Comments comments (0)

Today's card from the Victoria Frances Oracle is Falling from Grace, with the Keywords: Divine Protection, Despair, Healing. The girl in the card looks upset and distraught, as though something she liked in her life has come to an end or something painful has happened to her, but in the darkness of the background you can just about see an angel watching over and looking out for her. This card helps us to get through the dark times in our lives by reminding us that there is always someone in t...

The Mirror of Truth.

Posted on 11 October, 2017 at 4:40 Comments comments (0)

The Mirror of Truth, with the Keywords: Determination, Achievement, Ambition, is the card I've drawn for us from the Victoria Frances oracle deck today. The girl in the picture is staring out at us with a determined look in her eyes; she's not wavering or looking to one side, but facing what's coming to her head on. This is about wanting to do well in the things we are involved in in our lives. We don't want to just be participants or coast along as we'll get much better results if we can thr...

The Sound of the Inner Sea.

Posted on 10 October, 2017 at 6:00 Comments comments (0)

The card from the Victoria Frances Oracle deck that I've drawn today has the name The Sound of the Inner Sea, with the Keywords: Rest, Meditate, Sleep from the LWB. The girl in the picture is resting, taking some time out from the stresses of everyday life to look after her own needs for a change. There have been several cards with this message in various forms coming up for us recently, which probably means it's a message we all need to take heed of and act on in some way. Society drums it i...

The Stone Guardian.

Posted on 9 October, 2017 at 4:45 Comments comments (0)

I'm using another gothic type deck this week, this time it's the Victoria Frances Oracle, and our card today is The Stone Guardian. In the accompanying book the keywards for this are: Support, Faith, Vulnerability. The picture shows a young child in an overgrown graveyard, standing by a stone angel monument. This reminds us that we all have times when we feel vulnerable or unsure of what to do next, but there will be help available to us in one form or another. When we're children we often na...

Ancestors.

Posted on 6 October, 2017 at 3:10 Comments comments (0)

The final card of the week for us from the Witches' Wisdom Oracle is Ancestors, with the keyword Remembrance. The picture on the card is very evocative of the past, but if you look to the back of the picture it shows the sunlight shining through the trees, beckoning us to leave the past behind and to move forward to a bright, new day. It can be very easy to stay stuck in the past; it's comforting and we know it, just like the saying “better the devil you know,” but moving forward...

Staff.

Posted on 5 October, 2017 at 5:05 Comments comments (0)

Staff, with the keyword Stability, is the card with a message for us today from the Witches' Wisdom oracle cards. You can see there is a rocky path in the picture, heading towards the mountains. It could be a daunting path to take, but with the extra help and stability of the staff we can make a good attempt at getting to where we want to be. There may be times when we've strayed from our path, or been unsure if we're on the right one or not, but eventually things have a tendency to become cl...

Witch's Hat.

Posted on 4 October, 2017 at 5:55 Comments comments (0)

Witch's Hat, with the keyword Power, is our card today from the Witches' Oracle deck. This is about coming into our own power, finding our strengths and working on them so we can improve ourselves and get the results we want in all areas of our lives. Wearing the uniform doesn't make us capable of doing the job, but it can help put us in the right mindset and so set us on the road to doing it. Think of the Sorting Hat in Harry Potter- it decided which house to put the children in depending on...

Litha.

Posted on 3 October, 2017 at 5:10 Comments comments (0)

Today's card from the Witches' Wisdom Oracle is Litha, with the keyword Intensification. The picture on the card shows the sun rising at Stonehenge on the longest day of the year. The message for us is to keep going and to see if we can step up a level. It encourages us to focus on what we want, increase our resolve and to develop new methods of achieving what we've set out to do. This isn't the time for sitting around and waiting for things to happen to us, instead we need to try new things,...

Cauldron.

Posted on 2 October, 2017 at 3:50 Comments comments (0)

It's October now so there'll be no stopping me with the witchy themed decks for the next few weeks. This week I've gone back to one of my more recent purchases, the Witches' Wisdom oracle as I really enjoyed using it on our page, and today's card for us is Cauldron, with the keyword Containment. The fire under the cauldron is burning well and the liquid in the cauldron is bubbling away, everything looks as though it's coming together, but we need to wait until it's all just right and restrain...

The World.

Posted on 29 September, 2017 at 3:45 Comments comments (0)

The World is the last card of the Major Arcana and the last card from the Tarot of the Vampyres for us this week. The World represents completion and endings, things we've begun in the past coming full circle and dreams becoming reality. Hopefully we can feel fulfilment when the things we've been striving toward for so long come together, and we can be satisfied that we kept going and didn't give up. This can also relate to an area of our lives that is drawing to a close, such as the end of a...

Lord of Knives.

Posted on 28 September, 2017 at 5:50 Comments comments (0)

The Lord of Knives (often called the King of Swords) is our card today from the Tarot of the Vampyres. He looks majestic and full of energy, raring to go and to make sure the matters he's involved in are achieved. The message for us from this card is about active and dynamic thought, energetic and creative thinking, and being perceptive, analytical and logical. We need to master our mental abilities and put them to good use, for example when dealing with problems or having to analyse a situat...

2 of Sceptures.

Posted on 27 September, 2017 at 5:50 Comments comments (0)

The 2 of Scepters (often called Wands) is our card today from the Tarot of the Vampyres. This is a card with a lot of fiery energy, as well as drive and determination to get the job done. It encourages us to look to all the methods we have available to us to use and to employ them to gain advancement for ourselves or to move forward. We need to seize the moment, act rather than hesitate and be persistent in our endeavours to get the results we ultimately want. It can be easy to let things sli...

Queen of Skulls.

Posted on 26 September, 2017 at 6:15 Comments comments (0)

The Queen of Skulls (often known as Pentacles, Discs or Coins) is the card with a message for us today from the Tarot of the Vampyres. Being the Queen of the suit this is about caring and nurturing, looking after ourselves and others, and being in touch with nature and the earth. I feel this is the person who is all things to all people; they heal, sustain growth, provide solutions and guidance, give support, work hard and use common sense and intuition. This is a lot for us to aspire to, but...

The Empress.

Posted on 25 September, 2017 at 5:40 Comments comments (1)

It's not quite October, but I couldn't resist using the Tarot of the Vampyres by Ian Daniels this week. The Empress is our card today, and brings with it a message of new starts and abundance for us. The Empress represents the unconditional love of a mother, caring and nurturing, good fortune and success. If we're starting a new project or hoping to get a new idea off the ground this should go well for us, and similarly with a new relationship or romance as the potential is there for things t...

Rivers.

Posted on 22 September, 2017 at 9:30 Comments comments (0)

Amazingly, today's card from the Southern Cross Oracle is another water card, namely Rivers, with the Keyword Movement. I've checked the deck, and overall well over half the cards are of animals, yet this week I've drawn 3 watery cards and 2 plant cards for us. The messages from these must really need to be heard!

So, back to today's card, following after this week's previous messages (Knowledge from the Fig tree, Release from the Waterfall, Contentment from the Gum Nuts and the Surrend...

Ocean.

Posted on 21 September, 2017 at 3:15 Comments comments (0)

Today's card from the Southern Cross Oracle is Ocean, with the Keyword Surrender. This reminds me a bit of the Waterfall card we had a few days ago, and means that any similarities between the two are even more important for us to listen to and act on than usual as it's reinforcing the message. Water can be gentle and cleansing, but it can also be powerful and destructive. Any geography student knows about the power of water in shaping the landscape, and anyone who goes to the beach can see t...
