5 of Cups, 3 of Swords and The Empress.

The 5 of cups, 3 of Swords & the Empress are our cards from Emily Carding's Transparent Tarot today. At first glance this can look to be quite a sad situation; one figure is in danger of being harmed by the knives surrounding it, while the other sits and focuses on the cups that have been overturned & their contents lost. These situations are difficult ones & many of us are facing circumstances that can make us feel this way. The 5 of Cups can see us concentrating more of what we've lost than on what we still have, being unable to see the solutions to our problems as we're just focusing on the problem itself or the mourning the loss of a relationship, despite having others who care for us close by. The 3 of Swords can relate to things we may have heard (or misheard) that upset us, being let down by others or giving up the fight & wallowing in our misfortune. Thankfully, both of these figures are supported by the love & care of The Empress- she's understated, hidden away at the bottom of the picture, but without her the figures would have nothing to support themselves on. The Empress is the archetypal Mother, relating to nature, fertility, nurture & support. She helps us have the patience to get through the difficult times, to overcome the obstacles we're facing & encourages positive growth in our lives. We often take her for granted, but we'll certainly miss her when she's not there, so when we have the opportunity to do so it's a good idea to listen to her wisdom & allow her to help us get through our sorrows.
